Neurocognitive Testing for Concussions
The IMSA Sports Medicine Staff utilizes a software called Concussion Vital Signs to measure cognitive function of the brain as a part of the overall diagnosis and management of concussions. This is a web-based service, and therefore, a patient can take this test from home if they do not return to campus within 24-48 hours after their incident. Please read these instructions prior to linking to the testing website.
Testing Procedures:

Testing Procedures:
- Take this test in a quiet, distraction-free place
- The test should be completed on one of the following browsers: Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, or Chrome ONLY
- Disable Sticky Keys function (Press shift key 5 times, go into Ease of Access, deselect Sticky Keys, click 'Apply', and close the box)
- Click on 'Athlete Testing' on the right hand side
- Enter the username and password given to you by the Sports Medicine Staff
- Enter your 6 digit IMSA Student ID number into the Athlete ID box
- On the next screen, confirm your ID number, birth date, and name
- Select 'Post-Injury' for assessment type
- Select 'Concussion Vital Signs' and 'Concussion Symptom Scale' under Assessments
- Select the appropriate supervision type and 'Alone' for Testing Environment
- Read all instructions during the test carefully before staring each section
- Use the keyboard only during the test, do not use the mouse or number pad
- Before clicking OK, close all other programs and screens.
